In this tutorial we will be learning how to put text on a
curve.
This is a fairly simple effect but it involves the draw tool and vectors which
can be confusing. If you have any trouble with this tutorial just email
me.
I will also include in this tutorial a simple text effect
using a PSP preset.
Download the preset,
Unzip and extract the preset to your
PSP preset folder, extract the .bmp to your patters folder.
First thing I want you to do is create a new image 500-600 width by 300 height.
| First we have to set up our draw tool, Chose Bezier Curve and Create as Vector |
![]() |
| Now starting on one side of your canvas hold down the left mouse button and "draw" a straight line to the other side of your blank canvas | ![]() |
| Now comes the fun part making your curve, Click an hold down the left mouse button and pull the node handle in the direction direction you want the first curve. You get a node handle for each end of the curve so don't be upset if it doesn't look the way you want ... you have to do this to each side of your line for the curve to come out. |
![]() |
| If you pull the second node handle in the oposite direction you should get something that looks like this. | ![]() |
| Now Create a new raster layer |
|
|
Hove the cursor over the vector curve that you created until you see
this symbol |
![]() |
| If you want to do your own text effects you can skip the next step. | |
|
With the text selected Go to Effects/Texture Effects/Sculpture on the
main menu. Do a drop shadow on the |
![]() |
| After you have done the text effect that you chose you can do one of 2 things you can copy and paste the text where you want it to appear on another graphic or go to the layer pallet and make the vecor layer invisible. | ![]() |
You are now finished play around with it a little and when you are happy with the effect send us your results.
