Adding Quick Tag Names

If you aren't doing text on a curve or anything fancy like that you can make tagging go a bit quicker when tagging for a whole list of names or even just for tag extras. After you've completed your tag you are ready to add text which can get tedious when you have a long list of names or text. Once you play around and know exactly what text effects you are going to use take a few notes , save these notes in a text file in the same directory as your tag template if you think you may ever have cause to make another one of these tags again.

*This technique should work for adding text to web buttons as well as tags.

Create new image that is aprx 50 pixels wider than your Writable area (less if you are making buttons)
Height should be set high enough that you will be able to fit 6-8 names easily with room to spare.

make sure you background color is set to transparent

chose the Text tool and left click in the upper left corner of your new image.

Type a short list of names hitting the return key after each name. Adjust your font size to fit within the allowable size limits.
While watching the preview adjust the Leading (the higher the number the farther appart your lines of names will be)
Make sure you spread the text far enough apart for easy selection later.

Do all your text effects now.

Then using the selection tool set to rectangle, feathering 0 select one name off the list making sure that you do not overlap onto any of the other text

Hit the cut button then go to your tag template and paste the text as a selection. Postion where you want it.

Ctrl+F12 (pulls up the save copy as window) and add the Name after the original file name of the tag. Save as a jpg.
