How to make a Basic Frame

It's easier than you think! Yes, you too can make frames!

We're going to start out with a new image 300x400 pixels. Ctrl+A to select All
Go to Selections/modify/contract
Contract by 45 Go to Selections/Invert or Shift+Ctrl+I
Flood fill with white Select None or Ctrl+D
Ctrl+A Select all Contrct selection again only this time only contract 35
Invert Selection again Shift+Ctrl+I

Flood fill with contrasting color do not use black
Bright Yellow works really well

Ctrl+D Select None Ctrl+A Select All
Contract selection by only 10 this time Invert Selection again
Flood fill with white again Ctrl+D select none

You now have the basic frame components in place ... you should save this as a .psp file now

If you did it right your basic frame template should look someting like this.

Now that you have a basic Frame template lets play around and learn how to use it!

using the magic wand tool with the settings

click on the yellow.

Flood fill with pattern or solid color ... thats up to you ... for the frame above I used a seemless pattern fill.

Right click if you want it and save as a .bmp into your PSP pattern folder.

If you have eye candy 4000 you can do a cut-out with these settings ....
Direction 315
Distance 5.00
Blur 8.60
Opacity 45
shadow color black
keep original image

*note if you don't have eyecandy 4000 email me for alternate instructions

Ctrl+D Select None
Now using the magic wand again L-click on one of the white sections. Now holding down the Shift key L-click again on the other white section
Your frame should look something like this ...

now you can use a bevel or SBP if you have it or even PSP presets! to finish off this frame! I used a preset that I have included here in a .zip file for you to download

Put the .bmp in the pattern folder and the other goes in presets folder.
After you have done the outer borders
Ctrl+D Select none

using the magic want again (hey it's a useful tool isn't it?)
L-click in the transparent area in the center.

Do a cut out with the same settings that were used on the center panel of your frame. This is what your frame should now look like

Now save as ....
Chose PSP image type
Name your frame and put .pfr at the end of the file name

Save into your PSP frames directory
